Will a battery disconnect delete Revo Software ?

  • 0
  • February 10, 2020

A battery disconnect will not affect the majority of vehicles tuned with Revo ECU Software. An exception to this rule are vehicles fitted with the older MED9 ECU.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY REVO SOFTWARE?

Losing power to the ECU causes the adjustable settings of the Revo ECU Software to reset to default. This causes your vehicle to feel different and not run with optimised performance due to the MED9 ECU not holding memory when it loses power. You can use your SPS switch to quickly put these values back into the software if you have one, or you can visit us for further assistance.

WILL IT HAPPEN TO MY CAR?

The only software that is affected by a battery disconnect are vehicles fitted with a MED9 ECU and Revo software. A full list of MED9 vehicles can be found here;

HAVE I LOST MY REVO ECU SOFTWARE?

No. After a battery disconnect or flat battery, Revo ECU Software is still present within your vehicle’s ECU. This process does not remove, wipe or delete any Software from the ECU. The only way Revo software can be removed from an ECU is to have the vehicle flashed with a manufacturer stock calibration file.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER VEHICLES?

A battery disconnect does not affect vehicles not running a MED9 ECU and listed above. This includes adjustable, switchable and non-switchable Revo software found across all Volkswagen Audi Group and Ford vehicles.
