MK5 Golf Edition 30 Engine upgrades

Stage 1

  • Base Engine: 2.0 TFSI - 227 BHP
  • Performance upgrade by ECU reprogramming (engine control unit remapping)
  • Forge upgraded dump valve


Stage 1 consists of optimisation of engine management software. Before each re-map is performed, various diagnostic and mechanical checks are carried out. Expected gains are approximately +70 bhp and +65 - 70lbs.ft of torque including removal of the speed limiter. We recommend replacing the factory dump valve with the Forge upgraded aluminum piston version.

Stage 2

  • Forge upgraded dump valve
  • Performance air filter
  • Exhaust system from catalyst back


Stage 2 consists of optimisation of engine management software, performance air filter and Milltek Sport exhaust system. The Milltek exhaust is available in a number of options. Adding a sports exhaust system will not only give a pleasant soundtrack but also enable the engine to breath more easily adding to it's efficiency and producing more power and torque.

 Stage 3

  • Exhaust system from turbo back with hi flow sports cat

As with Stages 1 and 2, Stage 3 combines the optimization of engine management system with the cat back sports exhaust but in addition to this uses a Milltek hi flow cat and downpipe. 330 bhp is possible because the free flowing exhaust system allows the 2.0T engine to breath more easily making it even more efficient.  Very good gains are felt in the midrange.

Stage4

As with Stage 3 but with the addition of modified high pressure fuel pump and additional forge front mount intercooler allowing up to 350bhp

Short Throw Gear Shifter

Reduces gear level travel by approximately 40%

Sachs Clutch Kit

Sachs upgraded pressure plate and friction disk with higher holding pressure than stock allows for greater engine output and harder driving style. Keeps original flywheel suitable for road and track use.
 

Neuspeed Engine Torque arm insert

Under hard acceleration, your entire engine and transmission actually rotates due to compliance in the factory bushings. While the soft factory bushings do a good job of damping engine vibration, they can also create a rubbery, vague response in the vehicle's powertrain.

Our torque arm insert works in concert with the OE rubber bushing. With the insert installed, you car's throttle response will feel better and your shifts will feel more crisp and defined, especially on manual transmission cars.

Stage 1

Sport spring kit working with standard damping. Reducing ride height by approximately 15mm on the front and 30mm on the rear. Fitting includes four wheel laser alignment using our VAG main dealer spec system.

Suspension Bush upgrade

Front lower arm suspension bush upgrade, replaces standard bushes giving better steering feel and response.

Anti Roll Bar Kit

Larger diameter front and rear anti roll bars. Replaces front and rear bars giving reduced body roll and sharper steering response

MK5 Golf Edition 30 Brake Upgrades

Stage 1

Brake upgrade consists of  EBC Yellow stuff pads

Although a full race material and capable of high temperature use with very good wear life, this new formulation sets a new trend in race type brake pad compounds. The ?bite? from cold is superb which is uncommon with race materials (normally requiring warm-up) and makes this a pad which can be safely used on the road as well as on the race track. This new formulation was used by numerous championship race and rally drivers in 2004 and is truly a milestone in brake pad material development.

 High efficiency performance and race brakes for track & street use, fast to bed-in, great for street vehicle brake upgrade.

Not only a high friction pad but very resistant to heat and loads of heavy braking means that yellowstuff has been used with great success in race cars and on high speed Police Vehicle brakes alike.

EBC Yellowstuff pads are used on the UK Silverstone Race Track Drivers experience cars because of their high performance and longevity. Yellowstuff also claimed a win in the Targa rally and for two years running in the Brazil Mitsubishi off Road Team Desert Challenge

Because of its huge heat range , the applications where EBC Yellowstuff will deliver benefits range from fastest street use on higher horsepower cars to Trackday and Race use on most street based cars.

Stage 2

Brake upgrade consists of stage 1 with the adition of a better disks, in some cases a large disk can be fitted.

Every time you step on the brake pedal, your brake pads make contact with the brake rotor to slow your car down. The byproduct of that contact is heat, dust, and gas. NEUSPEED's cross-drilled rotors help dissipate this heat, dust and gas to reduce brake fade and cool down the rotor faster. NEUSPEED cross-drilled rotors are mill-balanced and each hole is ball chamfered to prevent cracking. All NEUSPEED rotors are cast to the original O.E. thickness for durability, and coated with a black-cadium finish to prevent internal corrosion.

 

Stage 3

Removes original front brakes and replaces them with Brembo GT Kit. This kit may require wheel spacers to be fitted.

The Gran Turismo System?s level of technology and performance is unrivalled by any other product on the market. By utilizing larger calipers and discs, thermal capacity and brake torque is increased. This potent combination offers the extreme in Brembo?s leading edge technology for high performance road and/or trackday applications.

The Gran Turismo kits comprise the following:

* Brembo 2,4,6 or 8 piston calipers (depending on application) with sequentially sized pistons. Includes colour choices of red, yellow, black or silver calipers. All Brembo calipers are designed to match the original brake master cylinder fitted to the car.

 Brake fluid upgrade


ATE Super Blue Affordable high performance brake fluids that have both a high dry boiling point (280 deg C) and a high wet boiling point (198 deg C), but without being excessively hygroscopic. What this really means is that these fluids do not readily absorb moisture like most high performance fluids.
