Specifically engine tuning has completely changed, gone are the days of tune up’s re jetting carburetors flowing inlet manifolds, changing camshafts etc. Tuning the modern engine is all computerised. Engine management systems control every aspect of the engine, via electronic control unit’s (ECU). Engine ECU’s run a software program to optimise the running of the engine in all climates and conditions.             

Tuning the ECU requires a different skill set and a vast array of software programs and knowledge.
